Neil wiffenWe get a few words from Neil Wiffen, principal consultant at Red Banana Wireless, who is taking part in a panel discussion on“: Test & Measurement Best Practices”, at the LTE World Summit, taking place on 23rd-26th June 2014, at the Amsterdam RAI, Netherlands.

With CSFB working well and OTT now mainstream are IMS-based services simply too late to have an impact?

It’s definitely not too late. Interoperability, in particular for roaming, will drive IMS-based services, but all will co-exist.

What the single greatest challenge that operators will face in 2014?

It’s certain to be managing the explosion of smartphone data.

As a maturing technology how much growth potential is there in LTE at this stage?

I believe there’s huge potential. M2M is a space I’m most excited about for 2014.

Do you think the time is right to start thinking about 5G?

Yes it is – but with not too much effort – it’s still early days!
